Job summary

A leading company in the automotive industry seeks a Quality Technician to ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and conduct quality audits. The role involves physical testing, reporting supplier defects, and maintaining safety standards. Candidates should have a National Diploma in a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience in the automotive sector.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Automotive Industry with foam experience advantageous.
  • Experience on 8-D Problem Solving Methodology preferred.
  • Internal or External Auditing training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily product audits and perform physical property testing.
  • Complete Quality shift reports and follow non-conforming material procedures.
  • Engage actively in plant safety efforts and report unsafe conditions.

Job description

  • Compliance to Customer Specific Requirements
  • Complete daily product audit
  • Physical property testing of the product.
  • Quality Control / design and analysis against specification
  • Attend and review scrap items during meeting
  • Complete and distribute Quality shift report.
  • Follow non-conforming material procedure.
  • Follow up on layered process audit findings.
  • Report supplier defects to QE.
  • 5S in the Quality office, Laboratory and Quarantine Cage.
  • Replace seats / components at assembly plants
  • Train backup Quality Tech(s) to carry out process in absence.
  • Actively supports plant safety efforts.
  • Engages in safe practices as well as follows and safety rules.
  • Must be willing to report unsafe conditions, report unsafe acts, participate in safety / ergonomic committees when assigned, participating in safety kaizen events when assigned, participate in safety audits when assigned and participate in safety (peer to peer) observation feedback events.
  • Attend required training
  • Ensure SPC data is captured and monitored in Mini-Tab for compliance.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the Senior Quality Engineer / Quality Manager
  • Must have experience on Hardness testing (Zwick Hardness Tester and TestExpert II software for hardness checking

Job Requirements :

  • National Diploma in Manufacturing / Engineering / Chemical related qualification
  • Experience in an Automotive Industry of 2 years minimum, with foam experience being an advantage
  • Ability to perform basic math functions. Good understanding of Manufacturing processes.
  • Quality / Problem Solving Tools : Understanding of Core tools (certified preferred),
  • Experience on 8-D Problem Solving Methodology / tools is preferred-(KT / 5 whys / fishbone etc), Internal or External Auditing training preferred.
  • Experience on operating a Zwick Hardness Tester.
  • Experience of using TestExpert II software.
