Quality Assurance Technician (Fine Measuring Room)

Location : Kariega | Industry : Automotive | Type : Permanent Position

Our client, a leading player in the automotive manufacturing sector, is looking for a highly skilled QualityTechnician to join their Quality Assurance team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-tech environment where precision and quality are paramount.

The Opportunity :

As part of the Fine Measuring Room division, this role plays a key part in ensuring world-class dimensional accuracy across components and systems.

You’ll be responsible for :

Developing, implementing, and maintaining precision measuring systems aligned with national and international standards.

Supporting part development and series measurement processes to ensure consistent quality.

Investigating quality discrepancies, driving corrective action, and delivering timely support to both internal teams and external partners.

Managing and calibrating measuring instruments, gauges, fixtures, and torque testing tools, ensuring compliance with ISO17025 standards.

Providing measurement and SPC (Statistical Process Control) data to support quality decision-making and management reporting.

Coaching and supervising junior technicians and trainees, contributing to a highly skilled metrology team.

What We’re Looking For :

Minimum Requirements :

National Diploma / N6 in Mechanical Engineering.

Trade Test Certificate : Toolmaker.

3–5 years of relevant experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience with parts and assemblies, including dimensional evaluation and alignment.

Strong knowledge of metrology symbols, VIM elements, and measuring equipment.

Experience with CAD model interpretation, CMM or CNC programming, and communication between measurement tools and software.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software.

Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and prioritisation abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.

Ability to work independently and perform under pressure.
