Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality / Process Engineer to join the Port Elizabeth team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO standards.
  2. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues.
  3. Analyse production processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  4. Lead and support lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement projects.
  5. Monitor and report on key quality indicators and process metrics.
  6. Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding quality-related matters.
  7. Train and support production staff on quality and process control techniques.
  8. Conduct internal audits and support external audits (e.g. ISO, customer audits).
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, procurement) to resolve quality and process challenges.

Requirements:

  1. Grade 12
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  3. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a quality or process engineering role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  4. In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
  5. Experience with ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
  6. Candidate must be available to start immediately.
