A leading company in steel fabrication is seeking a Quality Manager in Kempton Park. The successful candidate will supervise quality processes, ensure ISO compliance, and lead a team to drive quality performance. Our client is looking for a Quality Manager to join their team in Kempton Park. Operating within the steel fabrication sector, the company specialises in manufacturing pressure vessels, tanks, and heavy fabrication components for various industries. The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing all quality processes, people and systems, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and other relevant standards. The successful candidate must have strong people management skills, extensive experience in steel fabrication, and the ability to drive quality performance while supporting production and project delivery.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Quality Department.
Develop and implement project quality plans.
Maintain the HSQ management system to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Conduct internal, external, supplier and subcontractor audits.
Oversee welding quality and inspections according to industry codes.
Manage non-conformance processes, concessions and technical queries.
Ensure all project quality documentation is accurate and complete.
Conduct quality risk assessments.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with production, project and tender teams.
Coach, train and develop the quality team.
Manage client satisfaction processes.
Support cost recovery processes related to supplier non-conformance.
Requirements:
Proven experience in steel fabrication (non-negotiable).
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001, EN 3834, AWS D1.1, ASME IX.
Relevant technical qualifications such as Boilermaker Trade Test, Welding Inspector Level 2, NDT Level 2, NACE Level 1, Lead Auditor ISO 9001.
At least 10 years of experience in quality management within steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
Strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
Proficient in MS Office and STRUMIS.
