Position Overview:
The Quality Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and management of quality assurance processes. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the company's commitment to the highest standards of quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. The role requires a forward-thinking, data-driven professional with experience in quality management systems (QMS), regulatory compliance, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management Systems (QMS) Oversight:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's QMS to meet both local and international standards.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001) and industry-specific certifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all production and operational processes.
- Establish clear quality metrics and regularly assess and report on performance.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of quality professionals, ensuring continuous training and development.
- Foster a culture of quality, safety, and excellence within the team and across the organization.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align quality goals with company objectives.
- Customer & Supplier Quality Assurance:
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure consistent quality standards are met.
- Conduct quality audits, inspections, and evaluations of suppliers and vendors.
- Respond to customer complaints and quality issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Audits & Compliance:
- Lead internal and external quality audits and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Maintain records and reports of audit findings, corrective actions, and quality improvements.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Use data analytics to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement in quality processes.
- Develop and present performance reports to senior management.
- Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis:
- Lead root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and operations teams to resolve quality-related challenges.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- Relevant professional certifications in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quality management, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience working in the transportation, automotive, or heavy manufacturing industries.
- Proven experience with ISO standards and certification processes (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
- Strong background in quality control methodologies, risk management, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, CAPA, 8D).
- Proficiency in using quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
