Job summary

BMW Group SA is seeking a Specialist Quality Engineer in South Africa to support achievement of product, process and system quality targets. You will identify non-conformances, initiate and lead quality projects, train personnel, and ensure preventative measures are in place for sustained conformance with specifications.

The role emphasizes problem management, cross-functional collaboration and accountability for project execution.

Qualifications

• University Engineering degree (Mechanical/Electrical).
• Minimun 2-5 Years engineering experience in production/quality/press part evaluation, planning and realisation of technical facilities.
• Experience in manufacturing/assembly of measurements.
• Analytical ability.
• Problem solving skills, PC skills and Microsoft software.
• Planning and coordinating skills.
• Cross cultural experience in dealing with all levels of people.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality non-conformances, evaluate and put measures in place to improve the product quality according to specifications, considering cost and volume implications for production.
• Initiate and manage the Problem management process.
• Initiates and leads quality projects and quality related project teams as required or identified.
• Decides on execution and is accountable for effective introduction and sustainability of above-mentioned projects.
• Training of relevant personnel on developed quality processes.
• Implementation of preventative measures to prevent future quality non-conformances.
• Management of the buy offs of rework processes to ensure conformance with specification.
