Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer position available in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

• Minimum National Diploma in one of the following engineering sciences (ND Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Metallurgy).
• 3 to 5 years’ experience within the manufacturing industry.
• Good report writing and presentation skills.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Sound knowledge of vehicle manufacturing processes.
• Problem-solving skills and Quality Tools e.g., Fishbone, FMEA, SPC, and DOE.
• Experience in interpreting measuring reports and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in database software packages (MS SQL, Oracle, etc.).
• Assertive with the ability to motivate.
• Team player capable of working under pressure.
• In-depth knowledge of bolting equipment and applications inclusive of monitoring systems and controls.

• Analytically minded with the ability to work accurately with databases.
• System-based data extraction, interpretation, and analysis.
• Toolmaker Trade.
• Experience in engineering packages (CATIA, CAD).
• BSc Degree / B-Tech Mechanical / Metallurgy or Mechatronics Engineering.

Key Performance Areas:

• Plan, define, co-ordinate, and be accountable for quality audits and inspections in Press, Body, Paint, and Assembly shops.
• Maintain and improve product surface quality and mechanical joints by monitoring and reporting on non-conformances and processes.
• Establish root causes and implement corrective actions for allocated quality problems.
• Interface with various departments within the company.
• Present findings/reports at various forums and management structures.
• Liaise with overseas counterparts regarding build/quality matters.
• Co-ordinate and be accountable for quality issues.
• Lead cross-functional teams when required.
• Monitor and report on non-conformances and processes to drive early detection and initiate corrective actions.

Salary: R40 000 to R50 000 per month commensurate with qualification and experience + benefits.
