Job summary

Thales Aerospace Communications is seeking a Quality Engineer to maintain the integrity of quality processes for airworthy products. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with aviation regulations, resolve quality issues, and conduct audits. This full-time role requires a B Tech or B Eng degree and experience in complex manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years relevant work experience in complex production environments.
  • Proven experience in Quality and Manufacturing Environments.
  • Knowledge of Civil Aviation Regulations and Standards.

Responsibilities

Overall Job Function

Maintain integrity of quality processes to release airworthy products and services, per specifications, Customer requirements, Aviation Standard and Civil Aviation Regulations

Job Responsibilities

  • Resolve quality issues, determine the nature of non-conformance and participate in multi-functional teams to evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented corrective actions
  • Monitor and measure product quality performance against set targets and the key performance indicators of the supply chain process. Report achievements
  • Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to identify risks and appropriately mitigate these
  • Participate in project reviews and related engineering change activities in the relevant project phases
  • Develop Customer Quality Requirements Compliance Matrix
  • Audit Customer orders as per Compliance Matrix
  • Participate in Customer certification and third parties audits
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits, to ensure process efficiency; and continual quality of the supplied parts and materials
  • Ensure quality documentation accuracy, traceability and control, as per Standard, regulatory and procedural requirements
  • Coordinate, prioritize and perform the inspection of products and services
  • Release of products and services on time as per master scheduling and planning
  • Issue Certificate of Airworthiness for products or services
  • Participate in activities to meet and exceed Customer expectations

Job Requirements

  • B Tech or B Eng in appropriate discipline with 5 - 10 years relevant work experience in a complex production environment with multiple operations, parts of which with international participation
  • Proven experience and knowledge of :

Working in Quality and Manufacturing Environments

  • The main elements of the Quality Management System and its requirements
  • Civil Aviation Regulations and Standards (CATs & CARs)
  • The principles of Product Lifecycle and Development
  • Testing techniques
  • Supplier Quality Management
  • Quality Audits
  • Hardware / Software Product Lifecycle Development
  • MRP systems
  • Must be able to working with diverse teams and able to make decisions
