Job summary

The Talent Room is seeking an experienced Quality Controller in Pretoria to ensure vehicles, repairs, workmanship, and processes meet quality standards and customer expectations.

You will conduct pre-delivery inspections, verify workmanship across mechanical, electrical, body and general repairs, and liaise with technicians and service teams to address defects. A robust automotive background is essential.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required.
• Three to five years in automotive QC/inspection environments.
• VW and Audi QC experience is preferred.
• Experience inspecting vehicles and quality checks.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Dealership/workshop/automotive environment experience.
• Computer literacy including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough quality inspections on vehicles before delivery to customers.
• Inspect mechanical, electrical, body and general repair work for workmanship.
• Identify defects, faults, incomplete work and quality concerns.
• Verify repairs and maintenance meet manufacturer and company specs.
• Conduct final vehicle quality checks prior to handover.
• Ensure vehicles are presented clean, safe and roadworthy.
• Check fitment, accessories, panels, paintwork, interior and mechanics.
• Identify and report any quality issues requiring rectification.
• Liaise with Technicians, Workshop Management, Service Advisors and others regarding defects.

Our client, a well-established company within the automotive industry, is seeking an experienced Quality Controller to join their team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that vehicles, repairs, workmanship and processes consistently meet the company’s quality standards and customer expectations.

Description

• Conduct thorough quality inspections on vehicles before delivery to customers.
• Inspect completed mechanical, electrical, body and general repair work to ensure workmanship meets required standards.
• Identify defects, faults, incomplete work and quality concerns.
• Verify that repairs and maintenance have been completed according to manufacturer and company specifications.
• Conduct final vehicle quality checks prior to customer handover.
• Ensure vehicles are presented in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition.
• Check vehicle fitment, accessories, panels, paintwork, interior, mechanical components and general presentation.
• Identify and report any quality issues requiring rectification.
• Liaise with Technicians, Workshop Management, Service Advisors and other relevant departments regarding identified defects.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Relevant automotive qualification would be advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of VW and Audi Quality Controller experience; a Qualified Technician would be a bonus.
• 3–5 years’ experience in an automotive quality control, workshop, technical or inspection environment.
• Strong knowledge of automotive vehicles and mechanical systems.
• Experience conducting vehicle inspections and quality checks.
• Ability to identify mechanical, electrical, cosmetic and workmanship defects.
• Previous experience within a dealership, workshop, vehicle manufacturing, fleet or automotive environment.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
