Job description

Simera Sense is a leading mid- to high-resolution earth observation camera supplier for CubeSats and small satellites for companies from around the globe.

Our company is based in Somerset West, close to all amenities and diverse natural beauty, providing great lifestyle options.

Job Purpose

To oversee and examine production outputs to ensure that they conform to specifications and internal company standards as set out by Simera Sense.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities
  1. Inspections
  2. Schedule and perform inspections on production activities.
  3. Prepare inspection checklists for key and mandatory inspection points.
  4. Sign off mandatory inspection points to ensure that all assembly procedures and processes are adhered to.
  5. Review of incoming goods from suppliers and documentation such as certificate of conformity, test reports and material certificates.
  6. Complete and populate production inspection registers.
  7. Log and track non-conformances within the production process.
  8. Perform first article inspections on new components delivered by new suppliers.
  9. Manage non-conformance reports and rejections.
  10. Complete rejection notes and register the rejections on the Wrike system.
  11. Complete the quarantine list and follow up to remove items from the list.
  12. Ensure product reworks are performed and tracked on the Wrike system.
  13. Record and track scrap yield.
  14. Ensure Five-S workplace improvement and organisation is maintained throughout the production process.
  15. Ensure housekeeping workplace cleanliness is maintained by the production team.
Required Qualification

Advanced Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering.

Required Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Controller in a high-tech organisation.

Recommendations

Knowledge of ISO, AS and ECSS standards will be advantageous. Knowledge of Simens Teamcenter.

Technical Competencies Required for the Role
  1. Read and understand drawings and specification documents.
  2. MS Office and computer literate.
  3. A good knowledge and experience of ISO and the functioning of the Quality Management System.
  4. Knowledge of configuration system.
  5. Have a good knowledge of Institute for Printed Circuit Board (IPC) standards with respect to Printed Circuit Boards.
  6. Good communication and administrative skills.
