Our client is looking for a Quality Controller to join their dynamic team in Kempton Park, in the Pharmaceutical industry.

POSITION INFO :

Roles and Responsibilities

Job Title : Quality Controller

Reporting To : Production Manager

Industry : Manufacturing / Blending / Production

Employment Type : Full-time

Location : Chloorkop, Kempton Park

Salary Range : R15,000 – R18,000 per month (depending on experience)

Monday – Thursday : 07h00 to 16h30

Friday : 07h00 to 14h00

Job Overview :

The Quality Controller will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of mass manufacturing and blending operations. The successful candidate will manage a team of blenders, maintain production quality, and adhere to strict health and safety regulations. This is a physically demanding role, with the need for standing for long periods and lifting heavy materials.

Working conditions include indoor blending rooms with high temperatures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Key Responsibilities :

Operate blending machines, mixers, heating tanks, and related production equipment.

Follow precise formulations and ensure accuracy in bulk production.

Set and calibrate weighing machines and ensure correct raw material ratios.

Conduct and manage quality control across the production line.

Supervise and support a team of blenders.

Measure and weigh ingredients and products to ensure conformance.

Maintain detailed records of operational and production data.

Handle raw materials and compound them according to specified formulas.

Observe product quality, temperature, specific gravity (SG), and pH.

Regulate and maintain production temperatures in mixing tanks.

Collect product samples for laboratory testing.

Transfer finished products to bulk reserve areas or tanks.

Clear machinery jams under supervision and ensure equipment cleanliness.

Adhere to safety and manufacturing compliance protocols at all times.

Qualifications and Experience :

Required :

Matric / Grade 12 Certificate

Minimum of 2 years' working experience in a food or cosmetic manufacturing environment

Proven experience in quality control procedures

Strong leadership and team coordination skills

Ability to work under pressure with high attention to detail

Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks

Familiarity with industrial safety standards and PPE usage

Advantageous :

Tertiary qualification or certification in Quality Control, Manufacturing, or Production

Previous supervisory experience

Work Conditions :

High-paced, physically demanding environment

Requires use of PPE (steel-toe boots, hard hats, gloves, etc.)

Exposure to high temperatures in blending rooms

Standard working hours (no shift work or overtime)
