SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

A reputable manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Quality Controller to support their quality assurance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production documentation, overseeing gauge control, and ensuring compliance with internal quality systems in line with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control all production related documentation, including issuing and maintaining tooling and component drawings, and maintaining a customer drawing register.
  • Participate in reviewing feasibility study documents.
  • Issue job setup verification and inspection sheets, ensuring accuracy and updates.
  • Perform and sign off verification after each setup and verification.
  • Conduct daily checks/verifications on all parts produced.
  • Maintain quality systems on the shop floor.

Gauge Control:

  • Issue, maintain, and control gauges, including verification and calibration intervals.
  • Design gauges for production, ensuring suitability.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers for tooling and gauges.

Audits:

  • Support manufacturing process audits according to ISO and IATF requirements.
  • Distribute audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored.
  • Assist with PPAP, FMEA, APQP, MSA, SPC, CSR, and control plans.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Quality Management or equivalent (advantageous).
  • Minimum 3 years in a production or quality environment.
  • At least 4 years in Quality Assurance.
  • Experience conducting internal audits (system, process, product).
  • Knowledge of IATF Quality System.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, customer specifications, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, capability studies, APQP, SPC.

Skills:

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Organized with good planning and prioritization skills.
  • Leadership qualities to mentor and motivate staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Accurate record-keeping and good communication skills.
