Quality Control Manager (K291) - Pinetown

• Minimum MSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar, 5 years’ laboratory experience, and 3 years’ QC Lab Management experience in a pharmaceutical environment. Must be a South African citizen.
• Location : PinetownDescription : A pharmaceutical company is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Manager to join their team. The Quality Control Manager will contribute to the quality, safety, and efficacy of the company’s products through rigorous quality control processes, adhering to sound scientific principles and complying with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP). Further, the QC Manager is responsible for the smooth, efficient day-to-day operation of the QC Laboratory, providing operational assurance in support of business and strategic requirements. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, QC laboratory and department management; approving, developing, and maintaining specifications for all materials used in pharmaceutical and diagnostic product production; SAP and LIMS related tasks; developing user requirement specifications for new QC facilities, equipment, and contract testing, overseeing the implementation of new analytical methods and QC equipment post-SAHPRA approval, and maintaining a calibration and servicing program to ensure accuracy and prevent breakdowns; management of external or contract laboratories; contributing to the company’s strategic plans and implementation, participating in strategic initiatives and continuity in leadership, and ensuring alignment of the QC department with company-wide strategic initiatives; reviewing and reporting of trends; compliance to all Health, Safety, and the Environment (SHE) relevant legislation; support other company departments; maintain the quality system to ensure GMP compliance; people management, and general administration.Key Requirements : Minimum of an MSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field is required, with a PhD in Chemistry being preferred. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ laboratory and 3 years’ QC Lab Management experience in a pharmaceutical or similar environment. A complete understanding of cGMP, GLP, and international pharmaceutical standards is required while hands-on experience with internal and vendor audits will be advantageous. Must be a South African citizen.Additional Requirements : The ideal candidate should be computer literate and have experience with MS Office, SAP, and LIMS.
