As part of our continued focus on technical excellence and continuous improvement, we are looking for an experienced Group Quality Control Manager with a strong electrical engineering background to provide quality leadership and technical assurance across our operations.

Overview

Reporting to the Group Head of HSE & Quality, you will be responsible for managing and improving quality control activities across a multi-country organisation.

You will oversee quality audits, inspections, surveillance, training and performance management activities, ensuring that technical standards and quality requirements are consistently applied across project, maintenance and operational environments.

A key element of the role will be providing technical quality oversight of electrical infrastructure, installations and associated engineering activities. You will therefore need sufficient electrical engineering knowledge and practical experience to challenge technical standards, identify non-conformances and support the implementation of effective corrective actions.

Role Responsibilities

As Group Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading quality control activities across the organisation, ensuring that audits, inspections, surveillance and technical assurance activities are implemented consistently and effectively.
• Providing technical quality oversight for electrical engineering activities, including electrical infrastructure, installations, maintenance activities and associated engineering standards.
• Developing and maintaining technical standards and quality control inspection regimes, with particular emphasis on electrical engineering, project delivery and maintenance activities.
• Managing the Quality Control Surveillance programme, using findings and performance data to identify recurring issues, technical risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Leading audits and technical inspections, ensuring non-conformances are appropriately documented, investigated and addressed through effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Providing leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to Quality Control Engineers, supporting consistent approaches to auditing, inspection, information management and reporting.
• Reviewing quality and engineering performance data, identifying trends and highlighting areas requiring intervention, recognition or further investigation.
• Ensuring quality-related records, technical certifications, inspection documentation and corrective actions are appropriately monitored and maintained.
• Building strong relationships with operational leadership teams, engineering functions and contracted partners to drive compliance with agreed quality standards, processes and procedures.
• Driving continuous improvement across internal teams and external partners, ensuring lessons learned from inspections, audits and technical failures are translated into sustainable improvements.

Requirements for the Role

To succeed in the role, you will have:

• A Degree, Diploma, formal apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• A strong practical understanding of electrical infrastructure, electrical installations and engineering standards, with the ability to assess technical quality and identify potential defects, non-conformances and areas of risk.
• Preferably 10+ years' industrial or engineering experience, including at least 7 years' experience within Quality Management, Quality Control or Technical Assurance.
• Significant experience delivering or overseeing quality audits, engineering inspections and quality surveillance programmes within a technical, engineering, infrastructure, construction or maintenance environment.
• Experience developing, reviewing or implementing technical standards, inspection regimes, quality plans and engineering procedures.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance and quality control methodologies, including non-conformance management, root-cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Experience leading and influencing within a matrix organisation, including working with engineering teams, operational leadership and contracted partners.
• Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge technical and operational stakeholders constructively.
• Strong analytical capability, including the ability to interpret quality and technical performance information and identify trends requiring intervention.
• Strong reporting, presentation and communication skills.
