Specification (not totally inclusive)
  1. Perform routine quality checks on incoming materials from suppliers and outgoing products prior to shipment or final assembly.
  2. Use precision measuring tools (e.g., callipers, micrometres, height gauges, CMMs) to verify dimensions.
  3. Compare finished parts against drawings, CAD drawings, and tolerance specifications.
  4. Perform inspections during various production stages to ensure compliance.
  5. Approve or reject finished items based on quality standards.
  6. Maintain inspection records, including first article inspections (FAI), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and inspection reports.
  7. Track and report on defect trends or recurring issues.
  8. Ensure inspection tools and gauges are calibrated.
  9. Help manage calibration schedules and documentation.
  10. Work with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot quality issues.
Minimum Skills Required
  • Qualified Artisan.
  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in Fitter and Turner, Millwright.
  • 5 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting visual welding inspections.
  • Strong product knowledge and familiarity with underground mining operations is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with measuring instruments and testing equipment.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
