Time Conditions : 5 day Work Week (South Africa)

Purpose of Position : To provide specialised advisory support on quality and safety by partnering with the various business units to develop and implement continuous audit readiness strategies and to promote a proactive culture of quality and safety.

Requirements:
  1. HPCSA registration as a Medical Technologist (Required)
  2. Internal Auditing (Required)
  3. Qualified auditor (Required)
  4. Relevant Medical Technologist qualification (Required)
  5. Training in ISO Medical laboratories - requirements for quality and competence (Required)
Required Experience:
  1. 1 year of Quality Control experience in a laboratory
  2. 5 years of experience as a Technologist working within a laboratory setting
  3. Ability to anticipate issues and implement solutions proactively
  4. Accreditation and Safety Implementation experience
  5. In-depth knowledge of QMS principles and practices
  6. In-depth knowledge of SHE principles and practices
  7. Proficient in Computer Technology to use various computer applications effectively, including MS Office, Open Office, Adobe Professional, HRIS, Document Server, and Google Drive
  8. Quality Management Systems Internal Auditing experience
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with team members, other departments, and various business units
  11. Strong knowledge of ISO requirements for quality and competence for medical laboratories
  12. Training and facilitation skills to effectively conduct workshops and training sessions
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Advise business units on resolving nonconformities and implementing corrective actions
  2. Assess and enhance quality and safety systems to uphold and improve standards
  3. Assist with clinical trials in order to ensure trial requirements are met
  4. Conduct regular reviews and audits of quality and safety systems to identify areas for improvement
  5. Conduct Total Quality Management (TQM) workshops to enhance knowledge and skills
  6. Develop quality and safety training content and train employees on quality management and safety requirements
  7. Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath
  8. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure compliance with quality standards
  9. Offer advisory support to business units and provide guidance and assistance to encourage a proactive mindset towards quality and safety
  10. Partner with business units and implement strategies to ensure continuous readiness for audits
  11. Perform relevant administrative tasks to ensure sufficient handling and recording of documentation
  12. Perform tasks related to SANAS (South African National Accreditation System) to meet compliance requirements
  13. Perform TQM Specialist tasks to ensure continual Quality process improvement
  14. Provide input to compile the TQM budget, coordinate travel for audits, and keep track of credit card expense records
  15. Stay updated with SANAS regulations and ensure laboratory practices align with these standards
