A leading recruitment company is looking for a Quality Assurance Tester in Johannesburg. The role involves testing and validating product features to ensure high quality and usability. Responsibilities include creating test plans, running exploratory tests, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Review product specifications and create structured test plans.
- Manually test new features and verify functionality.
- Collaborate with developers and Product Managers on quality assurance.
- Gain a deep understanding of the business, its platform, and core product functionality to effectively test and validate features from an end-user perspective.
- Review product specifications and create structured test plans before development begins, ensuring test coverage across standard, edge case, and regression scenarios.
- Manually test new features across staging and test environments to verify functionality, usability, and performance.
- Run exploratory and scenario-based tests to simulate real-world usage, particularly for finance-sensitive actions and multi-tenant environments.
- Identify and document bugs clearly with steps to reproduce, screenshots, logs, and other supporting information.
- Maintain a regression suite for critical workflows and perform final checks before production deployments.
- Collaborate with developers, Product Managers, and Quality Engineers to align on test coverage, edge cases, and shared ownership of quality.
- Contribute to improving test processes and flagging areas that would benefit from automation.
- Support the team in releasing high-quality features with confidence, reducing post-release issues and improving end-user satisfaction.
- Take initiative to explore product behavior, spot inconsistencies, and raise concerns early.
- Work cross-functionally to promote a culture of quality, learning, and continuous improvement.
