JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic, energetic, and self-motivated individual has arisen in our Prestige Clothing Durban Manufacturing Plant. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Head of Manufacturing Operations. Our unique people strategy is what differentiates us from other Clothing Manufacturers. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate quality control to ensure the on-time delivery of produced products to satisfy the retail customers.
  • Ensuring that modified samples received are efficient for mass production and ease of manufacturing.
  • Quality Assurance Testing Design: develop and validate complex new test methods and procedures for a garment or operations segment, incorporating new technologies and meeting changing organizational, customer, and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of occupational health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Leadership and Direction: Lead and oversee the performance of quality managers to ensure adherence to quality control processes throughout all stages of production
  • Research and integrate best practices in quality management and manufacturing processes and staying up-to-date on international standards relevant to retail manufacturing.
  • Liaise between the Design Centre and manufacturing to resolve quality issues and ensure seamless integration of quality assurance and control measures into the manufacturing workflow.
  • Responsible for auditing of sample sizes or 100% checks where applicable.
  • Manage the Quality teams
  • Providing training and Support to ensure best practices
  • Maintaining records for quality control activities, inspection reports, defect rates and corrective measures.
Requirements:
  • A National Diploma or Degree in Garment technology, Garment Quality, Product Manufacturing, or Production Management.
  • 5 years' experience in Clothing Manufacturing and Garment quality or a similar environment.
  • Garment quality experience desired.
