Job description

The above-mentioned vacancy exists in the Quality Dept.

in our Rosslyn and Springs plant.

This position reports to the General Manager.

Applications from suitably qualified candidates are invited to join the Nampak Metals team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Plan, conduct and review process audits (based on risk evaluation) and escalate nonconformities to relevant / affected departments, e.g., Logistics, Production, Technical.
  2. Manage Site Pre-Requisite Programs for suppliers, e.g., Pest control, Canteen, Cleaning, Warehouse, to mitigate food safety risk.
  3. Manage new products / customers requirements to ensure compliance.
  4. Manage the approval of new products or customer requirements from a quality perspective for production / release.
  5. Ensure effective systems are in place to monitor raw material quality.
  6. Manage warehouse protocols including: external packaging quality, PRP requirements, qualification and approval in line with FSSC requirements.
  7. Prepare and present QA reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  8. Participate in systematic and strategic problem solving for continuous improvement.
  9. Lead and manage the Quality team, ensuring team deliverables are met.
  10. Review team skill sets, identify training needs, and facilitate necessary training.
  11. Lead the identification of risks to improve performance.
  12. Monitor team performance and progress, taking corrective actions as needed.
  13. Provide feedback and coaching to team members.
  14. Ensure performance issues are addressed promptly and good performance is recognized.
  15. Set up formal team structures for problem solving.

The ideal candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • BTech in Quality Management or equivalent
  • 5 – 8 years in manufacturing, with Quality Assurance and Quality Management experience
  • Minimum 2 years' managerial experience
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Management systems, tools, techniques, and process capabilities
