Job description

The role

Quality and Risk Consultant position is available on a full-time basis. This role is within Santam Tied Agency Distribution, part of the Sanlam Distribution Channel, based in Bellville.

What will you do?

The objective is to mitigate risks related to advice quality, increase production, and upskill existing advisors with Commercial Lines Product accreditation. The role primarily involves coaching, vesting, and developing Sanlam STi advisors.

What will make you successful in this role?

• Implement targeted risk management strategies
• Active upskilling and coaching of Sanlam Tied Agents
• Coaching and supervision of Sanlam advisors - Commercial Lines
• Facilitating and coordinating work sessions
• Explaining complex underwriting principles and decisions to Sanlam Advisors
• Conducting joint and field visits with Sanlam Advisors
• Monitoring monthly compliance
• Achieving compliance targets and implementing improvement plans
• Performing monthly audits on new commercial business to identify and address risks
• Liaising with the Santam commercial hub and underwriting

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed RE 5
• Relevant Short-Term Insurance qualification(s) – NQF 4 level
• Minimum 5 years of Commercial product and underwriting experience
• Agri product and underwriting experience is beneficial

Knowledge

• Familiarity with all relevant Santam systems (Mainframe, Policy centre)
• Understanding of relevant regulatory legislation and compliance (FAIS accredited)
• Ability to upsell and identify growth opportunities
• Knowledge of Financial Services products (Santam, Niche, and competitors)
• Policy administration and claims knowledge
