The role

Quality and Risk Consultant position is available on a full-time basis. This role is positioned within Santam Tied Agency Distribution, operating within the Sanlam Distribution Channel, based in Bellville.

What will you do?

The objective of the role is to mitigate risk stemming from the quality of advice, increase production, and upskill existing advisors with Commercial Lines Product accreditation. The role primarily focuses on coaching, vesting, and developing Sanlam STi advisors.

What will make you successful in this role?

1. Implement targeted risk management strategies
2. Active upskilling and coaching of Sanlam Tied Agents
3. Coaching and supervision of Sanlam advisors - Commercial Lines
4. Facilitating and coordinating work sessions
5. Explaining complex underwriting principles and decisions to Sanlam Advisors
6. Joint visits and field visits with Sanlam Advisors
7. Responsible for monthly compliance monitoring
8. Achieving compliance targets and implementing actionable plans for improvement
9. Monthly audits on all new commercial business to identify and address risks
10. Liaising with Santam commercial hub and underwriting

Qualifications and Experience

1. Completed RE 5
2. Relevant Short-Term Insurance qualification(s) – NQF 4 level
3. Minimum 5 years of commercial product and underwriting experience
4. Agri product and underwriting experience is beneficial

Knowledge

1. All relevant Santam systems, e.g., Mainframe, Policy Centre
2. Relevant regulatory legislation and compliance knowledge (FAIS accredited)
3. Ability to upsell and identify growth opportunities
4. Financial Services Product Knowledge (Santam, Niche, and competitors)
5. Policy administration and claims knowledge
