Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- Trade Test in Petrol or Diesel Mechanic
- Valid driver\'s licence and vehicle (or reliable transport)
- Fluent in English
- Minimum of 5 years\' experience post Trade Test

Duties and Responsibilities
- Vehicle Diagnostics & Fault Finding
- Conduct thorough diagnostic checks using electronic and manual tools.
- Identify and assess mechanical and electrical faults in petrol and diesel vehicles
- Interpret fault codes and determine appropriate repairs.
- Engine Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance and advance repairs on petrol and diesel engines
- Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble engine components.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn parts, including pistons, gaskets, valves, and injectors.
- Fuel System Servicing
- Inspect and repair fuel injection systems, pumps, carburetors, and fuel lines.
- Ensure proper calibration and efficiency of fuel systems.
- Electrical & Ignition Systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including battery, alternator, and starter motor faults.
- Service ignition systems, including spark plugs, coils, and timing systems (especially in petrol engines).
- Cooling, Exhaust, and Lubrication Systems
- Maintain and repair radiators, water pumps, thermostats, and cooling fans.
- Service exhaust systems to ensure optimal performance and emissions compliance.
- Check and top-up engine oil, transmission fluid, and other lubricants.
- Brake, Suspension & Transmission Systems
- Inspect and service brake systems, including pads, discs, drums, and hydraulic lines.
- Maintain and repair suspension components such as shocks, springs, and control arms.
- Diagnose and repair manual and automatic transmission issues.
- Record-Keeping & Reporting
- Complete job cards and service reports accurately.
- Record parts used and time spent on repairs.
- Report recurring faults or safety concerns to supervisors.
Remuneration
R20 000 - R25 000 Basic (depending on experience) + Medical aid contribution + Pension fund contribution + Performance based bonuses
