Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a qualified Technician for a busy Toyota franchised workshop in Potchefstroom. This hands-on role emphasizes accurate diagnosis, quality workmanship and delivering vehicles right first time.

The successful candidate will service, diagnose and repair Toyota passenger and light commercial vehicles, including electrified models, meeting manufacturer standards and dealer targets. A trade-tested mechanic with 3+ years in a franchised workshop is preferred.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) is required.
• Qualified Motor Mechanic with a trade test certificate (Red Seal / QCTO) is required.
• At least 3 years' post-trade experience in a franchised dealership workshop.
• Strong diagnostic ability on modern vehicle electronic systems.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
• Must reside in or near Potchefstroom, or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled services, maintenance and repairs according to Toyota procedures and specifications
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using Toyota diagnostic equipment and software
• Perform warranty repairs and complete the required documentation accurately
• Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new vehicles
• Record labour times, parts used and findings on job cards and the dealer management system
• Identify additional work needed and report it to the Foreman or Service Advisor
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs to confirm quality
• Keep tools, equipment and the work bay clean, safe and in good order
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including hybrid high-voltage safety protocols
• Attend Toyota technical training as required

A well-established dealership in Potchefstroom is looking for a qualified Technician to join its workshop team. This is a hands-on role in a busy franchised workshop. It suits a trade-tested artisan who takes pride in accurate diagnosis, quality workmanship and getting vehicles back to customers right the first time.

Scope of the Role

The Technician will service, diagnose and repair Toyota passenger and light commercial vehicles, including the Hilux, Fortuner, Corolla Cross and hybrid models. All work must meet manufacturer standards, warranty requirements and the dealership's turnaround and quality targets.
