Job description

Qualified Diesel Mechanic required inLinbro Park, Johannesburg.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Reliable male with sober habits
  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal qualification obtained) a must
  • Recent experience as a diesel mechanic a must (not apprentice experience), specifically in a transport or logistics work environment
  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems, and strong understanding of diesel engine systems
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining large commercial vehicles, including trucks and trailers.
  • Able to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and able to work under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
  • Own reliable transport to work
  • Willing and able to work overtime and be on standby as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Residing within daily commuting distance from Linbro Park, Sandton
  • No lawful termination at any previous employer due to misconduct or non performance
  • Stable employment record and contactable employment references a must
  • To start as soon as possible

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Full Diesel Mechanic duties for transport & logistics company (Fleet of trucks and vehicles)
  • Perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services on diesel engines and related components.
  • Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and machinery to ensure proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and provide solutions for repair.
  • Replace faulty components, such as fuel pumps, filters, and turbochargers.
  • Ensure all repairs comply with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance work and parts used.
  • Respond to breakdowns and provide on-site repairs when necessary.
  • Work effectively with the team to ensure timely vehicle repairs and minimize downtime.
