Job description

SUMMARY : POSITION INFO :

1) Professionally trained as a Butler.

2) Food & beverage service experience is an advantage.

3) Must have at least 4 to 5 years of experience working as a Butler in a Private Household or Boutique Guesthouse.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the proper layout, change-over, and upkeep of table services for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; preparing dining tables in traditional English or French styles.
  • Maintaining and cleaning valuable silverware, fine porcelain, and crystalware.
  • Preparing travel plans for daily excursions and luggage for international travel.
  • Managing and assisting with the private art collection of the Owners.
  • Managing stock in the wine cellar with a broad knowledge of wines.
  • Creating and maintaining floral displays.
  • Understanding, promoting, and enforcing household protocols among staff and guests.
  • Assisting in training household staff.
  • Maintaining detailed, up-to-date inventories of valuables.
  • Welcoming and inviting guests.
  • Serving food and drinks with proper service at all times.
  • Liaising with the Villa Manager.
  • Maintaining and cleaning all three vehicles.
  • Maintaining a strict cleaning schedule when the Owners are not in the Villa.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Honest, trustworthy, and proactive.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage the home in the absence of the Villa Manager.
  • Extensive experience in similar roles within private residences, with verifiable references.
  • High-level experience in Valet, Butler, and Service positions.
  • Flexible to accommodate the schedules of business professionals, including holidays and weekends.
