Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and qualified Actuary to join our client’s team in the insurance sector. You will be responsible for all technical aspects relating to the annuity business, and this would include pricing, valuation, capital management and asset-liability management. Additionally, you will play a critical role in driving growth for the company.

You will meet the following Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Fellow/Associate of the Society of Actuaries (FASSA/AMASSA) or equivalent professional designation.
• At least 4 – 6 years of post-qualification experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance pricing.
• Strong technical skills in actuarial pricing techniques and models, including experience with programming languages such as R or Python.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities will include:

• Own and develop the suite of risk-neutral pricing models, which integrate capital requirements and management
• Develop and maintain these pricing models by incorporating relevant market trends and historical data.
• Conduct risk analysis to evaluate the financial impact of new product offerings.
• Monitor competitive feedback, VNB and profit metrics and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and product development teams to ensure pricing strategies align with overall business objectives.
• Evaluate valuation results and asset-liability developments and adjust pricing bases appropriately
• Stay current with industry trends and developments, including regulatory changes and market conditions.

Location: South Africa (Option to work remotely from anywhere in the country)
