The Ideal Candidate Would Be Responsible For
- Ensuring staff are adequately trained and fully understand all tasks to be performed.
- Taking full responsibility for all labour-related issues, including managing all positions at all times.
- Managing timesheets and overtime.
- Having full control of production processes and responsibility for maintaining production standards.
- Maintaining standards in terms of quality, process flows, volumes, and food hygiene.
- Engaging in ongoing communication with production and engineering staff, as well as with all senior management.
- Raising non-conformances and conducting effective root cause analysis.
- Ensuring timely and continuous verification of effective corrective actions.
- Assisting all departments to comply with food safety, quality, and animal welfare standards.
- Ensuring QC activities comply with legal, customer, and company policies and procedures.
- Maintaining and implementing the 20 key principles in the QC workplace.
- Adhering to Astral’s ethics policy.
- Managing timesheets and overtime.
- Handling disciplinary matters appropriately and in accordance with company policies.
- Monitoring and verifying all QC online checks to ensure compliance with legal and customer requirements.
The Successful Candidate Must Meet The Following Requirements
- A Matric Certificate or equivalent.
- A Diploma or BTech in Environmental Health or Food Technology.
- At least 5 years of experience in a production environment.
- Possession of a PME/PMI qualification.
- Willingness to work shifts.
- Good supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to work independently and handle pressure well.
- Professional staff management and leadership by example.
- Training in Food Safety, HACCP, and Root Cause Analysis.
