Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist (Denim)

Our client in the retail sector, based in Ladysmith (KZN, Ezakheni), is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist with expertise in denim to join their team. We are looking for a meticulous and experienced professional to uphold the highest quality standards in denim apparel production.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of denim manufacturing processes, quality control methodologies, and have a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities include:

1. Inspecting raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished garments to identify defects and ensure products meet customer expectations and company standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience (3-5 years) in quality assurance within the denim apparel industry.
• Strong understanding of denim manufacturing processes, materials, and garment construction.
• Excellent knowledge of quality control methodologies and inspection techniques.
• Keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• Ability to identify and analyze defects effectively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and basic computer skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials (fabric, trims, etc.) upon arrival to ensure they meet specifications.
2. Monitor and inspect the denim garment production process at various stages, including cutting, sewing, washing, and finishing.
3. Identify and document any defects, deviations from specifications, or quality issues.
4. Collaborate with production teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
5. Perform final inspections of finished garments to ensure they meet all quality standards, including fit, construction, and appearance.
6. Maintain accurate and detailed quality control records and reports.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
8. Communicate quality issues and findings to relevant departments (e.g., production, design).
9. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
