Job summary

Lotus HR and Recruitment is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager with proven ISO 9001:2015 experience to lead QMS across multiple manufacturing facilities in the Durban area.

You will coordinate audits, review QMS documentation and drive continual improvement while engaging production and technical teams to uphold quality standards. Travel between sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quality Management, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline.
• Proven experience in Quality Assurance Management within manufacturing/industrial.
• Sound knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS including implementation, maintenance, auditing and continual improvement.
• Experience in road construction materials sector advantageous.
• Experience coordinating internal quality audits and NCR handling.
• Strong ability to drive quality culture across departments.
• Coordinate ISO 9001:2015 Management Review Meetings and reporting to senior management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal quality audits and review QMS documentation for compliance.
• Ensure adherence to established quality policies and procedures across sites.
• Drive a strong quality culture and standardised practices among production and technical teams.
• Report QMS performance, compliance and improvement initiatives to senior management.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Manage NCRs and customer complaint resolution processes.

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Quality Management, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related technical discipline, coupled with proven experience in Quality Assurance Management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• You must have sound knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, including implementation, maintenance, auditing and continual improvement.
• Experience within the bitumen, binder, emulsion, slurry, petrochemical or related road construction materials sector will be highly advantageous.
• You will have proven experience in managing and maintaining QMS compliance across multiple manufacturing and operational facilities.
• You must have experience in coordinating and conducting internal quality audits, reviewing QMS documentation and ensuring compliance with established quality policies and procedures.
• You will have a solid understanding of non-conformance reporting (NCRs), root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions, and customer complaint resolution.
• You must be able to drive a strong quality culture across departments, ensuring consistent application of quality standards and procedures.
• You will be responsible for coordinating ISO 9001:2015 Management Review Meetings and reporting on QMS performance, compliance and improvement initiatives to senior management.
• You must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage effectively with production, technical and operational teams.
• You must be willing and able to travel between manufacturing and depot facilities as operationally required.
