Psybergate is an IT company that builds bespoke software solutions and provides highly skilled resources to its clients.
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Lead (QA Lead) to join our financial services client based in Sandton for a 12-month contract role.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with Stakeholders across Group Technology to build a network that will align to the company.
- Ensure stable solutions for stakeholders by delivering automated testing solutions and quality practices within agreed timelines and risk parameters.
- Advise clients on quality practices.
- Build and foster relationships with Peers, Subject Matter Experts, Developers, Product Owners, and other Stakeholders through honest communication aligned with company Values.
- Develop a deep understanding of the domain to contribute to ongoing value.
- Collaborate closely with QA Leads, Practice Leads, Developers, Architects, Product Owners, and other Stakeholders to meet client expectations.
- Participate in overall PI planning and squad deliverables including capacity estimation and interdependencies.
- Review relevant artifacts from stakeholders (e.g., technical landscape, architecture design, technology roadmaps).
- Create Test Strategies, approaches, or plans aligned with squad objectives.
- Break down business needs into manageable features, stories, and epics.
- Ensure all user stories and acceptance criteria are tested for each release without compromising quality.
- Participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning.
- Attend daily stand-ups as necessary, manage issues raised by QA Engineers, and raise relevant risks.
- Encourage collaboration among QA Engineers across squads for efficient implementation and automation governance.
- Perform pull requests and ensure feature branches are committed to Master.
- Review automation solutions for architectural and development standards, ensuring reusability and scalability.
- Challenge solutions aligning with client value proposition.
- Ensure integration and continuous execution of test automation in DevOps pipelines.
- Work with the QA Practice Lead on metrics and reporting.
- Adhere to defect management processes.
- Store artifacts in repositories for easy access.
- Participate in retrospectives, seek efficiencies, and encourage peer reviews.
- Manage own demand based on timelines and project expectations.
- Collaborate to understand and apply technical advances and emerging technologies.
- Mentor team members to improve their capabilities.
- Contribute to documentation of standards and quality practices.
- Participate in performance management and ensure healthy team dynamics.
- Support business strategy and objectives.
- Develop and implement operational processes to improve stakeholder businesses.
- Seek opportunities for business process improvements through agile thinking.
Requirements
- Completed IT / BSc degree or related field.
- 7–10 years experience as QA Lead or Test Analyst.
- Good knowledge of Front End, API automation, and Performance Testing (NFT).
- Tools include Selenium, Appium, Healenium, RestAssured, and JMeter.
