Job summary

impact.com is seeking a QA Chapter Lead to raise the quality bar across IO and AI groups, embedding quality as an engineering discipline. You will coach engineers, build testing tooling, and shape evaluation systems for AI products, while guiding risk-based testing and release readiness with cross-team collaboration.

The role spans platform and agentic AI testing, requiring strong automation, mentorship, and a proactive, principled approach to quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Software Development.
• Engineering in Test (SDET) background, with a strong background in test automation and platform development.
• Champion of Quality: Proven track record of owning and upholding the absolute standard of software quality for an entire group or department.
• Leadership through influence: a track record of raising quality across teams you did not directly manage, by setting standards and coaching rather than by owning a central QA queue.
• A multiplier, not a gatekeeper: proven ability to make other engineers own and raise quality, so the bar holds without you personally testing everything or acting as the release gate.
• Agentic AI expertise: Practical familiarity with putting AI at the forefront to improve engineering workflows, including experience with MCPs, Agents and Agent Skills, and utilizing/building testing harnesses.
• Testing AI systems: practical experience evaluating non-deterministic or agentic products, for example building eval harnesses and regression suites for LLM or agent behaviour, and testing for safety and guardrail failures.
• Infrastructure foundations: strong understanding of cloud ecosystems, containerisation (Docker), ETL pipelines, and API endpoints.
• Deep expertise in testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Selenium, TestRail, API testing, CI/CD integration).
• Excellent communication and influence, with the ability to align engineers, product, and leadership around a quality bar they choose to own.
• Proactive, first-principles mindset, always looking for ways to improve quality, flow, and developer experience rather than to add process.

Responsibilities

• Set the quality bar and the operating model across IO and AI groups to make engineering-owned quality the default.
• Lead the chapter and enable quality engineering across groups with standards and reusable patterns.
• Build testing harnesses, evaluation systems, and guardrails for agentic AI testing.
• Design test strategies for IO platform (functional, regression, integration, performance, security) and AI products (eval-driven, safety, cost, latency).
• Collaborate with engineering leads and product managers to move quality left and drive adoption of best practices.
