Job summary

Asuer is seeking a Python Software Engineer to help build backend systems for our chatbot, ERP and digital services. You’ll own features from spec to ship and write production Python daily, with room to grow and own larger components.

You’ll contribute to tests, review peers' code, and integrate with payments, mobile networks and KYC providers. Three days in-office at Bryanston, with the rest shipped from anywhere, in a role with market-rate compensation.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years building production Python systems.
• Familiarity with cloud (AWS or GCP).
• Comfortable with Linux command line.

Responsibilities

• Building Python services that power Asuer Insure, Connect and our chatbot.
• Writing automated tests and contributing to our testing culture.
• Reviewing peers' code and learning from theirs.
• Integrating with third-party APIs (payments, mobile network, KYC providers).
• Investigating and fixing production issues.
• Documenting what you build so the team can use it.
