Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial strategies: responsible for developing and implementing strategies to achieve International’s sales and profitability targets.
- Market analysis: analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify business opportunities.
- Sustainability: as the subject matter expert, manage the implementation and assessment of suppliers to ensure sustainability targets are achieved.
- International trade agreements: manage the implementation of international trade agreements, specifically with USA, Africa, India, and South America.
- Sales forecasting: collaborate with product managers to develop and maintain sales forecasts, monitor performance against targets, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Supplier performance: identify, vet, and approve vendors; manage their performance in line with agreed SLAs.
- Costing, pricing, and negotiations: negotiate contracts, pricing, and SLAs with approved suppliers.
- Contract management: oversee contracts with suppliers, ensure compliance, and resolve disputes.
- Risk management: identify and manage commercial risks including credit, supply chain, and foreign exchange risks.
- Project and team management: lead and motivate team members internally and externally, providing guidance and support.
- Relationship building: establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to align with the company's commercial objectives.
- Stock management: ensure accuracy and optimization of trade-related stock levels, managing overall stock in line with working capital targets.
- Business development: develop expansion plans in collaboration with NPD, marketing, sales, and product management teams.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Commercial qualification (BCom or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial role with an international focus
- Expertise in international trade agreements, sustainability, and supplier relationship management
- Proven leadership success
