A leading recruitment agency in Durban is seeking a sales manager to drive DC sales, grow retail loyalty, and meet gross profit targets. This full-time role requires a minimum of 5 years in management within an FMCG environment and a tertiary qualification in Marketing or Advertising. Strong negotiation, strategic decision-making, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this position is to drive DC sales, grow retail loyalty, meet DC and retail GP targets, and gain market share through careful planning and purchasing of the correct stock on time and in line with retailer requirements.
Management of promotions planning.
Achievement of sales and gross profit targets
Ensuring product pricing competitiveness against competitors and maintaining budgeted retail margins for members.
Delivering on defined service levels to retailers
Development of internal controls to manage and report on Category Managers' key performance areas.
Driving product development.
Overseeing warehouse stock levels in line with budgeted expectations.
Managing the performance of suppliers from pricing, product, and service level perspectives.
Negotiating trading terms and supplier SLAs.
Controlling department administration and expenses.
Assisting in providing leadership to the Marketing team.
Providing category leadership to the Marketing team and Retail Members.
Performing ad hoc tasks and duties as required.
