Position Summary:
The National Research Foundation (NRF) seeks to appoint a Public Relations Officer. Reporting to the Manager: Corporate Communications, the incumbent will organize and oversee a range of public relations activities and ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing Internal Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Strategies.
- Leverage innovative internal platforms to engage NRF employees.
- Promote and showcase the OneNRF success story regularly.
- Create, collate, and publish employee profiles across various channels.
- Manage content on the intranet as the main repository for employee-related information.
- Ensure all internal communication activities comply with policies and guidelines.
- Implement strategies to position NRF as an employer of choice.
- Research, write, and edit content for internal communication channels.
- Coordinate production of internal communications for the NRF Bulletin.
- Identify innovative communication platforms to enhance employee engagement.
- Support the development of Corporate Social Responsibility programs.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and post-campaign reports.
- Develop issue and risk mitigation strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, and positioning tactics.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF Level 7.
Minimum Experience:
- 3-5 years in a relevant role such as Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Internal Communications, or Stakeholder Management.
Skills and Knowledge:
- High-quality writing, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to execute stakeholder engagement and staff-focused campaigns.
- Independent and team work capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project management, campaign coordination, and time management skills.
- Understanding of Corporate Communication strategies, Public Relations, Stakeholder engagement, and research in academic or public sectors.
