The SIU has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Talent to join our dynamic team. Our team is passionate about fighting corruption and recovering financial losses suffered by the State. The SIU hereby invites suitably qualified and experienced applicants to apply for the opportunities to serve the Unit.
Main purpose: To oversee all provincial operations within the North West Province to ensure efficiency and quality of investigations. To lead and direct provincial caseloads and maintain the viability of the province as a going concern. To provide leadership for staff members and lead stakeholder interactions and business development within the province.
Demonstrable experience in leading investigations, practical experience in strategic planning and implementation, and exposure in reporting to oversight committees such as National/Provincial SCOPA, Office of the Premier, etc.
Thorough knowledge of laws, rules, and legal precedents related to evidence, premises searches, and interview techniques. Sound knowledge of applicable legislation (e.g., Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Law of Evidence). In-depth knowledge of investigation techniques. Understanding of the public sector environment and legislative practices. Knowledge of financial principles, PFMA, and MFMA. Knowledge of corporate governance and ethics. Familiarity with IT environments, financial systems, and processes. Knowledge of project management principles. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Strategic thinking, attention to detail, deadline-driven, collaborative, customer-focused, ability to work under pressure, and results-oriented.
LLB or B Honours in Accounting, Forensic Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent (NQF 8). Six to eight years’ experience in a corporate or professional services legal/forensic/accounting environment, with at least four years at a senior management level.
