We are looking for an internal Proposal Manager who will be responsible for preparing high-quality technical and commercial proposals in response to client inquiries, tenders, and requests for quotations. The role requires close collaboration with the engineering, finance, and human resources teams to ensure accurate, competitive, and professionally presented proposals are delivered within required timelines.

Responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Review client specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to develop cost-effective proposals and solutions.
- Coordinate proposal preparation, including compiling technical documentation, cost estimates, and commercial terms.
- Liaise with internal departments such as engineering, projects, and Finance for input and approvals.
- Interface with suppliers and subcontractors for cost data and technical information.
- Ensure proposals are submitted on time and in the required format.
- Participate in tender clarification meetings and negotiations with clients when required.
- Maintain a database of proposal templates, pricing models, and historical bids.
- Track the progress of submitted proposals and provide follow-up support when necessary.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal development processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a proposals, tendering, or estimating role within an engineering, EPC, or industrial environment
- Experience in energy industry preferred
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the South African industrial and energy sectors.
- Familiarity with pricing structures, margin analysis, and risk evaluation.
- A proactive, solution-driven approach with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
Skills:
- Experience with tender platforms
- Strong technical acumen and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organisational, and time-management skills
- Must be able to work independently and meet strict deadlines
