Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a dynamic property investment and management company in Sandton, Gauteng to find an experienced Property Accountant to join the finance team. The role focuses on accurate financial operations across a diverse property portfolio, including leases, AP/AR, reporting, and budgeting.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, a professional qualification is advantageous, 3–5 years in property accounting, and strong IFRS knowledge along with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CA(SA), ACCA or CIMA qualification is a strong advantage.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, with property/real estate exposure.
• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle and Xero; strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge of IFRS and local regulations.
• Experience with lease accounting and property management software.
• Analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of property accounting including general ledger, A/P and A/R.
• Process rent collections, reconcile tenant accounts, and manage arrears.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Assist in budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances.
• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and leases.
• Liaise with external auditors during year-end audits.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining accounting systems and controls.
• Provide financial support and analysis to the property management team.
