Job summary

Schlemmer in Pinetown is seeking a General Manager to own project delivery and operational management across the business. You will coordinate multiple teams and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.

This senior role requires strong leadership, technical understanding and hands-on experience in manufacturing or engineering environments, with a track record of on-site execution and successful project completion.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Operations Management or a related technical field.
• Proven project management experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction or technical environment.
• Experience managing projects through on-site execution and completion.
• Strong understanding of project costing, budgets and profitability.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for planning, coordination and successful delivery of projects.
• Manage projects from quotation and design through procurement, production, installation and final handover.
• Coordinate project, design, procurement, production, logistics and installation teams.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, quality and deliverables.
• Oversee production, quality, procurement, stock, logistics and operational systems.
• Manage client, contractor, consultant and other project stakeholders.
• Identify project risks, delays and operational challenges and implement solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement, efficiency and accountability across the business.
• Provide strong leadership across operational and project teams.
