Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

This opportunity requires a seasoned safety professional with extensive experience in mining, construction and EPCM project environments, with a strong commitment to ensuring construction activities are executed with Zero Harm.

Minimum Requirements

• SAMTRAC Occupational Health and Safety Management Qualification or equivalent
• Occupational Health & Safety / Construction Health & Safety programme (NQF Level 35)
• More than 10 years relevant industry experience, preferably with similar EPCM companies
• In-depth knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulations, OHS Act and Construction Regulations
• Experience/ability to be appointed in terms of 2.17.1 of the MHSA
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Must be in good health and able to work actively on site

Advantageous:

• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety (CHS) Practitioner
• Previous experience at Valterra Platinum and/or Sibanye-Stillwater
• Previous Concentrator and/or Smelter project experience

Key Focus

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a strong safety culture on site, monitoring construction activities and helping ensure compliance with relevant mining, occupational health and construction safety requirements, with Zero Harm as a key project objective.
