Job summary

Creative Leadership Solutions is seeking a Quality & Engineering Lead in South Africa to advance project quality planning and documentation across complex technical programmes. You will review drawings, procedures and manufacturing records, ensure acceptance criteria, and drive robust quality controls within regulated environments.

You will coordinate with engineering, production, and procurement teams, lead audits, implement corrective actions, and mentor project staff on best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in quality and engineering.
• Project quality planning, inspections, audits and supplier quality.
• Manufacturing quality and quality documentation control within complex technical projects.
• Experience in defence, security, government projects or other regulated technical environments.
• Exposure to international customers, suppliers or project teams advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain project quality and inspection plans.
• Review drawings, specifications, test procedures and manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure quality requirements and acceptance criteria are clearly defined.
• Maintain accurate project quality documentation and records.
• Ensure compliance with quality management systems and contractual requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, production readiness reviews and project gate reviews.
• Support testing, verification and quality inspections.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and industry-specific requirements.
• Identify and manage project quality risks.
• Investigate non-conformances and determine root causes.
• Implement corrective actions and manage concessions.
• Resolve technical quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead or support internal audits, supplier reviews and process audits.
• Conduct or coordinate product inspections and ensure findings are addressed.
• Prepare quality reports, status updates and first article inspection documentation.
• Support customer, government and third-party audits and inspections.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, production and supply chain teams.
• Engage with suppliers and customers to address quality requirements and concerns.
• Provide quality guidance, coaching and decision-making support to project teams.
• Promote proactive quality management throughout the project lifecycle.

• 8+ years' relevant experience in quality and engineering.

• Practical quality and engineering experience.
• Project quality planning, inspections, audits and supplier quality.
• Manufacturing quality and quality documentation control within complex technical projects.

Skills and Knowledge (essential):

• Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel.
