  • Supervise maintenance and building projects by service providers.
  • Develop and implement policies for building maintenance and safety.
  • Report progress on maintenance plans and projects to management.

Thekwini TVET College invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following contract post based in Durban.

POST: PROJECT OFFICER: FACILITIES X1

CONTRACT DURATION: 12 MONTHS

LOCATION: FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

REF: CORP 01/08/2025

SALARY NOTCH: R397 116.00 PER ANNUM (SL8)

FRINGE BENEFITS: MEDICAL AID, PENSION, HOUSING ALLOWANCE AND SERVICE BONUS

Requirements:

  • Matric certificate or equivalent. A Recognized Three-year National Diploma (NQF 6)/ Degree in Building Management/ Safety Management/ Construction Management or related qualification
  • 3 years’ relevant experience of which three years must be in a supervisory level in Facilities Management, SHERQ and OHS environment.
  • Knowledge of Public Service Act and Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Immovable Asset Management Act.
  • A knowledge of record management system. Knowledge of Infrastructure Reporting Model System. A valid driver's license.

Key Result Areas:

  • Maintenance planning of all Thekwini TVET College Buildings and Infrastructure
  • Prepare Billi of Quantities and Requisitions
  • Seat in the Bid Committees and advise on areas of maintenance and Building
  • Supervise the maintenance and building projects performed by services providers
  • Develop and implement policies related to Building, occupational health and safety and infrastructure maintenance
  • Report the progress on maintenance plan and building project to College Management, Department of Higher Education and Treasury.
