Job summary

DVT, a software development and technology consulting company with offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Project Manager. You will assist define project scope, build detailed work plans and drive delivery for clients across Banking, FinTech and Insurance.

Responsibilities include governance, risk and issue management, stakeholder engagement, and budget monitoring. Experience of 8 years+ in PM and holding a Diploma/Degree in PM or related field plus a PM certification

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Project Management, preferably within Banking/ FinTech or Insurance.
• Proven experience managing projects within Risk, Regulatory and Compliance environments.
• Strong Delivery Management experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist/define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility in collaboration with senior management
• Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
• Execute the project according to the project plan
• Develop forms and records to document project activities
• Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
• Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
• Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
• Communicate with funders as outlined in funding agreements
• Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures

Prioritization of requirements, and the documentation thereof in a manner that is comprehensive enough to reflect understanding of business requirements. The Project Manager will be responsible for creating solutions, achieving deadlines and delivering excellence through effective interaction with clients, suppliers and the internal production team.

• 8 years’ experience and above in Project Management, preferably within Banking/ FinTech or Insurance.

• Proven experience managing projects within Risk, Regulatory and Compliance environments.

• Strong Delivery Management experience.

• Experience working with multiple stakeholders across business and technology environments.

• Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, issue management and dependencies.

• Experience working within regulated financial services environments.

• Diploma or Degree in Project Management, Business Management, Information Technology or a related field.

• Recognized Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM or an equivalent PM certification.

• Strong planning, coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid project environments would be advantageous.
