Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Project Manager – Solar to join our team in Sandton, Johannesburg. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of South Africa’s renewable energy transition, working within a leading player in the Telecommunications and Energy sectors. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in electrical engineering, hands-on solar PV project experience, and the leadership skills necessary to drive complex commercial and industrial solar projects to successful completion.

Duties & Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead the full lifecycle of solar PV projects from planning through commissioning and final handover, ensuring timelines, quality, and budgets are maintained

• Technical Oversight: Guide the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems to meet safety and performance standards

• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with clients, internal departments, contractors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and smooth execution

• Budget & Schedule Management: Prepare and manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring efficient resource allocation and milestone tracking

• Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to local regulations, safety codes, and industry best practices across all project phases

• Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues

• COO Support: Complete additional tasks as directed by the Chief Operating Officer in a timely and effective manner

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications

• Professional Registration with SACPCMP as Pr.PM or Candidate

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing solar PV projects (commercial, industrial, or utility-scale)

• In-depth knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical engineering principles

• Familiarity with South African industry standards and regulatory compliance
