A leading company in renewable energy is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Cape Town to oversee large-scale Wind and Solar PV projects across South Africa. This full-time role involves leading project delivery from financial close to handover, ensuring compliance and managing key relationships with stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have extensive infrastructure experience, strong leadership skills, and a focus on sustainable project management.
Project Manager - Renewable Energy (Construction)Location : Newlands, Cape TownType : Permanent (Contract appointments also considered)An experienced Project Manager is sought to join a fast-paced renewable energy development and construction environment in Cape Town.
The successful candidate will lead the delivery of large-scale Wind and Solar PV projects across South Africa, managing construction from financial close through to COD and handover.This is a full-time position based in the Newlands office, with regular travel to project sites across the country.Key Responsibilities : Manage day-to-day delivery of EPC and Supply & Installation contractsOversee project milestones : construction, commissioning, handover, and close-outPrepare and track contractual notifications, variation orders, and claimsCoordinate with Owner's Engineers, EPC contractors, environmental officers, and other service providersLead monthly project meetings and oversee site-based activitiesEnsure grid code compliance and support Eskom-related processesManage relationships with lenders' technical advisors and independent engineersSupport transition to O&M and close-out activities post-DNPCandidate Profile : Minimum 15 years' post-graduate experience in infrastructure or energy project deliveryAt least 5 years in renewable energy or large multi-disciplinary construction projectsDegree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil), Quantity Surveying, or Building ScienceStrong knowledge of construction contracts and contract managementProven leadership and stakeholder coordination skillsHigh attention to detail, strong communication, and technical competenceAbility to work independently, travel regularly, and manage multiple prioritiesPreferred Attributes : Proactive, solution-oriented, and resilientExcellent planning and organisational abilityCommercially aware with a hands-on approach to problem-solvingStrong relationship-building and team collaboration skillsIf you are a driven project leader with a passion for delivering complex renewable energy infrastructure, this could be your next step.To apply, please submit your CV via link or directly to Deji Ogunsola (
