Position: Senior Solar Project Manager

Location: Cape Town

Client: A Leading Firm in the Renewable Energy Sector

General Description:

The Senior Solar Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale solar energy projects. This role is critical in ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest industry standards, while also achieving environmental compliance and stakeholder satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of solar project development, from initial feasibility analysis and design through to construction and operational handover.
  • Lead project planning sessions to ensure requirements are clearly defined and project scope, milestones, and budgets are established.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure necessary equipment and services within budgetary limits.
  • Manage the integration of solar technology and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international standards.
  • Direct and monitor the progress of construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans to minimize project risks.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including investors, government entities, and community groups, to ensure consistent communication and project alignment with community and environmental goals.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting project status, risks, and financial forecasts.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Project Management, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or advanced certification in Project Management, Renewable Energy, or related field is advantageous.

Experience Requirements:
