Job description

Role Purpose

Responsible for delivering all assigned Technology projects on time, within budget, and aligned with PMO project delivery methodologies, governance, and quality standards, while achieving company and client objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan, lead, and manage projects and/or programmes throughout the entire Project Lifecycle, from Initiation to Sign-off.
  2. Ensure successful outcomes for assigned projects/programmes, serving as the key driver for engagement success.
  3. Manage projects as if they were their own business, focusing on client satisfaction, meeting project objectives, and maintaining a positive environment for the project team.
  4. Build and maintain strong, value-adding relationships with clients to ensure project success and navigate project complexities.
  5. Develop and sustain relationships with internal stakeholders (PMO, BUs, Finance, IT, HR) to support project success.
  6. Communicate project status effectively internally and with clients, including progress, scope, budget, quality, risks, issues, and changes.
  7. Adhere to and promote best-practice PMO methodologies and client-specific project rules in project execution.
  8. Manage multiple projects simultaneously within the allocated capacity.
  9. Ensure compliance with PMO governance practices, including project initiation, setup, and closure, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  10. Create and update detailed Microsoft Project Plans, including resource allocation, dependencies, budgets, and baselines.
  11. Maintain project documentation such as Project Charters, analysis artifacts, and change control documents.
  12. Manage project teams to deliver according to the project plan, escalating risks and issues timely.
  13. Oversee project budgets, including internal costs, revenue, billing, and cash flow milestones.
  14. Prepare project collateral and lead project meetings (status updates, steering committees, etc.).
  15. Support PMO initiatives aimed at improving team efficiency and effectiveness.

Prior Experience, Technical Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of Project Management experience in IT or Professional Services.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project/Projects on Line.
  • Proven success in delivering multi-country ERP implementations with budgets of at least R40M.
  • Experience communicating and negotiating with C-suite executives (CEO, CFO).
  • Over 15 years of delivering large-scale ERP projects, managing teams of over 20 consultants.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Project, Projects on Line, and managing projects in DevOps.
  • Additional experience with SAP, Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, and DevOps is beneficial.
  • Financial acumen in project planning, tracking costs, revenue, and profit margins.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Ethical, proactive, resilient, and forward-thinking with a passion for operational and strategic delivery.
