Main job functions:
- Overall management of site operations.
- Maintain production targets for each site and ensure each operates within prescribed costs and budgets.
- Coordinate and control activities of site staff, ensuring compliance with quality standards as set out in the contract, company policies, and procedures.
- Compile and submit claims for contract sites to the Contracts Manager.
Qualifications:
- Matric / Relevant Degree or Diploma.
Criteria and Specific Responsibilities:
- Pre-project preparation:
- Familiarize with documents, especially project specifications, special conditions, bill of quantities, and critical items.
- Prepare financial aspects, including programme, resource schedule, and contract requirements.
- Establish break-even points and production targets.
- Set up measurement and costing systems.
Ensure all contractual requirements are fulfilled, checklists completed, and arrangements made for the first official site meeting.Manage site setup, including existing services, camp, job establishment, and organizational arrangements.Oversee project start-up procedures, quantities taken off, and materials ordered.Supervise productivity of subordinates by allocating work, discussing requirements, and overseeing setting out and quality standards.Monitor project progress, hold regular meetings, and manage critical activities and resources.Maintain progress according to programme and budget, control costs, and manage variances.Coordinate with subcontractors, oversee their activities, and ensure quality and progress.Submit progress statements, manage variations, claims, and ensure timely invoicing and certification.Maintain open communication with clients, engineers, and authorities.Lead and motivate the construction team and subcontractors for efficiency and collaboration.Ensure site safety, security, and tidiness, and maintain good labour relations.Remuneration: R75K-RK.
