Job description

Overview : We are looking for a results-driven Project Manager with proven experience in leading enterprise-wide initiatives within the banking and financial services sector.

This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory environments, digital transformation, and Agile delivery.

You will be responsible for ensuring that projects align with strategic objectives and are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.Key Responsibilities : Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic projects across various banking domains (e.g., digital banking, payments, compliance, risk, lending).Develop and maintain detailed project plans outlining scope, goals, schedules, resources, risks, budgets, and contingency measures.Ensure alignment with the bank's strategic objectives, business priorities, and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with stakeholders from business units, IT, compliance, risk, and operations to ensure seamless delivery and value realisation.Facilitate Agile ceremonies and use Lean-Agile techniques to support iterative delivery and cross-functional collaboration.Manage risks and escalate issues in a timely manner while maintaining control and compliance standards.Provide accurate and timely reporting to executive sponsors and governance forums.Drive continuous improvement in project delivery, leveraging insights from retrospectives and lessons learned.Skills and Competencies : Strong understanding of banking processes, regulatory frameworks (e.g., SARB, Basel III, AML), and digital banking trends.Solid project management skills with knowledge of both traditional (Waterfall) and Agile methodologies.Expertise in financial management, including budgeting, cost tracking, and benefit realisation.Skilled in stakeholder management, facilitation, and clear business communicationpetence in governance, risk, and control management within a banking context.Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Project (MSP).Preferred Qualifications and Experience : 5+ years' experience in project management within the banking or financial services sector.Experience delivering projects in areas such as core banking, risk and compliance, digital transformation, or data and analytics.Scrum Master or Agile certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe) preferred.Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, IT, or a related field (project management certification is a plus).Desired Skills : ProjectManagerBanking
