About the Role

Our client, a pioneering firm at the intersection of agriculture and technology, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to drive the implementation of innovative AgriTech solutions. Based in the heart of the renowned winelands region, Paarl, Western Cape , this role is crucial for integrating advanced technologies into agricultural practices. You will manage projects involving precision farming, data analytics, and sustainable agricultural methods. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for flexibility while maintaining essential on-site collaboration and site visits within the beautiful Western Cape agricultural landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the complete lifecycle of AgriTech projects, from concept to deployment and support. Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, timelines, resource allocation, and budget control. Coordinate with agricultural experts, software developers, and hardware engineers to ensure successful project outcomes. Oversee the implementation of data collection systems, IoT devices, and analytical platforms for farming operations. Conduct field assessments and user training for new AgriTech solutions. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery. Monitor project progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and report findings to stakeholders. Foster strong relationships with farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and technology partners. Ensure solutions comply with relevant agricultural regulations and environmental standards.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a strong preference for roles in AgriTech, agricultural sciences, or technology implementation. Proven experience in managing technology-driven projects, preferably within the agricultural sector. Understanding of precision agriculture, data analytics, and relevant agricultural technologies. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Proficiency in project management software tools. A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus. Experience working within the Western Cape agricultural community is highly desirable. Ability to effectively manage projects with a hybrid work model, balancing remote tasks with necessary site interactions in Paarl .
